Steve Hales

Steve Hales is currently the Chief Transformation Officer of Prismic Life Reinsurance, Ltd., following on from his role as interim CEO during 2025. Before that, Mr. Hales was CEO of Resolution Re, a Bermudian asset-intensive reinsurer. During his five years there, he built out its business and operations from early start-up phase to fully fledged international reinsurer, with significant assets under management in several markets and currencies.
Prior to that, Mr. Hales was Head of Global Life at Assicurazioni Generali based in Trieste, Italy, where he was also responsible for the Group level data science and IoT initiatives. From 1997 to 2012, Mr. Hales lived in Madrid, Spain, having transferred from Tillinghast London as a senior actuarial consultant. In 2005, Mr. Hales joined AXA, initially as Head of Life Insurance for AXA Spain, and subsequently as Head of Life & Health for Southern Europe, MENA, and Latin America.
Mr. Hales holds a BA in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics from Oxford University. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries (FIA).
