Joachim Georg Rühle

Joachim Georg Rühle is a retired German four-star admiral best known internationally as Chief of Staff at NATO’s Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) from September 2020 to September 2024. He previously served as Vice Chief of Defence (Deputy Inspector General) of the Bundeswehr and held senior leadership roles in both the German Navy and NATO structures.
